Defend University Students' Right to Retain Universal Credit

Defend University Students' Right to Retain Universal Credit
The Issue
As a full-time university student, I have experienced firsthand the hardship of losing Universal Credit due to status change in education. Aiming to provide a better future for my children, I faced financial uncertainty just because I chose to pursue higher education. This needs to change. The current policy wrongly treats student loans as an income source, neglecting that they are a debt students are obliged to repay in the future. Why then should such loans affect our entitlement to Universal Credit, further pressurizing the economically vulnerable population pursuing education? We call on the government to reconsider the regulation that ties Universal Credit eligibility to full-time student status, as education should be a right, not a financial detriment. Join us in this cause and sign the petition, to defend university students' right to retain. Universal Credit.
