We’re a group of students from the University of Arizona working to make solar energy more accessible, affordable, and understandable for everyone in our community. Through our organization, Students for Renewable Energy (SRE), we help Arizona residents, especially working families, lower their electricity bills and protect themselves from utility rate hikes by switching to solar with zero upfront cost.

We’ve seen firsthand how hard it is for everyday Arizonans to navigate the complicated process of going solar. That’s why we step in, not as salespeople, but as students passionate about sustainability, community service, and creating a better future for our state. We provide free guidance, no-pressure consultations, and connections to trusted, vetted solar installers with proven results.

But right now, the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), a critical federal law that makes solar affordable for millions, is under threat. The IRA provides essential tax credits and incentives that keep upfront costs low and energy bills down for families across Arizona.
