Since launching the petition in October last year there has been no change to Evan's situation.
On the 3rd of December 2015, Senator Jacqui Lambie tabled this petition in the senate and named several individuals who she would be calling before a senate enquiry.
On the 2nd of February 2016, Senator Jacqui Lambie detailed more of Evan's disclosures regarding fraud, criminality and corruption in the ADF.
Since then:
• The ADF have not launched an investigation into the changing of Evan’s rank and employment category on the Commonwealth database;
⁃ the forged documents which appear on his file,
⁃ the falsified reports on his service record
⁃ the release of false service history to News Limited and;
⁃ Evan’s denial of service in the ADF
• The member who allegedly changed Evan’s rank and employment category number has discharged from the ADF, on a full pension. Within days of being named in parliament by Senator Lambie, the member submitted his discharge paperwork. Despite our protests and written letters to the Defence Minister, the Chief of Army approved his discharge.
• On the 9 February the Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull wrote to Senator Lambie, in response to her representations, saying that he, “supported a fair outcome for all through meditation." The Department of Defence have still not paid any compensation to Evan for lost wages or legal fees which now total $460,000.
• Our family has been subjected bullying and intimidation by Defence members and former Defence members since Evan’s disclosures were made public. Even the SAS Association tried to discredit and defame Evan by distributing a false summary of his service history to its members nationwide.
Evan was removed from his position in Special Forces in August 2009. Twelve months ago, following a Commonwealth Ombudsman review, Evan’s rank and SAS employment category were restored. The Ombudsman also recommended to the Minister that the Inspector General of the ADF investigate. Yet seven years after his identity was changed we are still fighting for justice.
To our supporters we ask that you email the Defence Minister Marise Payne senator.payne@aph.gov.au and implore her to launch an investigation and pay Evan’s wages and legal fees without delay. The Defence Minister is also on Twitter @marisepayne and Facebook.
