Free the nipple! De-sexualize and De-criminalize women's breasts and nipples!

The Issue

As a feminist, I want to advocate for women's right to free the nipple. It's unfair that men can do so freely while women can't, especially in situations where it's too hot or when swimming. Women should be able to express themselves freely without being shamed or sexualized for their bodies. It's time to break down the double standards and allow women the same freedoms as men. Let's empower women to feel comfortable in their own skin and embrace their bodies without fear of judgment.

Historically, women have sometimes been arrested or charged with public indecency, disturbing the peace, or lewd behavior for baring their breasts in public, even in jurisdictions where there was no law explicitly prohibiting doing so. In New York state, female toplessness was made legal around 1990, and when a woman was arrested there in 2005 for appearing topless in public, a court ruled in her favor and she later received US$29,000 in damages. Even social media such as YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram ban female nipples but not men's nipples

This double standard is not only sexist but also contributes to the objectification of women's bodies. Men of all ages can freely show their nipples without facing any legal repercussions or societal backlash while women cannot do so without fear of arrest or harassment. Girls aged 10 and older get arrested for being topless and that is sexualizing and criminalizing minors.

The time has come to challenge this outdated perspective and promote gender equality by de-sexualizing women's nipples across all 50 states and worldwide. We must work towards a society where both men and women can express themselves freely without fear of discrimination based on their gender.
