Decommission the 18km tunnel project in Bengaluru and save the city

The Issue

Bengaluru, a city of opportunities and also, the city with amazing weather has seen it's worse days. And yet, sees no chance of recovery but deterioration by the administration of the city.

The 18-km tunnel project from Hebbal to Silk Board is valued at a construction budget of a whopping Rs.12,690 crore and during an extended period of 38 years. While the government's focus should be on improving public transportation facilities like metro and buses, the approval has already gone through bypassing expert opinions of disaster.

This will cause widespread ecological impact including depletion of the underground water table, increase in temperatures, deforestation and impacts that cannot be reversed, not only to the city but also the areas around.

(Hebbal to Silk Board metro line is under construction and bus services can be improved)

We, as residents of Bengaluru, and above all, humans who are responsible to pass on a healthy Bengaluru to the upcoming generation, it is critical that such projects that do not contribute in any manner to the development nor solutioning of a city infrastructure, should not have even Rs.1 spend from the hard earned tax payer money.

It is my humble request to each of you to sign this petition to STOP any proceedings with regard to this project. Kindly sign the petition!
