The Issue

Growing up in India, I've always felt a deep connection to the cultural roots that bind us all. At the heart of these roots lies Sanskrit, a language that not only tells the stories of our past but has the potential to shape our future. Sanskrit is intrinsically linked to many Indian languages, providing a common thread that can unite our diverse population. Implementing Sanskrit as the national language of India can pave the way for a united and culturally enriched nation.

Throughout our education system, incorporating Sanskrit from the foundational stages through to higher education can foster intellectual growth. A myriad of our ancient texts, full of wisdom and knowledge, are written in Sanskrit. By promoting education in this language, we open doors to a treasure trove of ideas and philosophies that can inspire innovation and progress.

Let's look at Israel, which revived Hebrew and made it their national language, subsequently witnessing tremendous cultural and economic growth. India, too, can follow this path with Sanskrit, a language that already holds spiritual and historical significance for millions.

By adopting Sanskrit as the national language, we not only preserve a timeless heritage but also strengthen our national identity. In a world that often highlights division, the universality of Sanskrit can promote unity, integrity, and mutual understanding among all Indians.

I urge the policymakers and leaders of our nation to consider the profound implications of this change. Embrace Sanskrit, not only as a bridge to our past but as a beacon guiding us towards a cohesive and prosperous future.

Please sign this petition to request the Government of India to officially make Sanskrit our national language. Let us come together to champion a change that respects our heritage and embraces our potential.
