Declare Hinjawadi IT park as a Municipal Corporation

Declare Hinjawadi IT park as a Municipal Corporation
The Issue
I am a resident and a daily commuter for work, school, and other activities in Hinjawadi, Maan, Marunji, Nere, Gahunje, and nearby areas. Each day, I face the harsh reality of inadequate infrastructure and a lack of basic municipal facilities in what is supposed to be one of the prime IT hubs of Maharashtra, located in Pune district. Despite its burgeoning population and rapid urbanization, residents and officegoers remains deprived of the fundamental amenities expected from a developed area.
Currently, these villages lacks essential services like clean and consistent drinking water supply, a proper sewage system, and well-maintained roads. These are basic necessities for any township, yet they are glaringly absent here, affecting the quality of life and health of thousands of residents. The persistent absence of public transport options has made commuting a daily struggle, exacerbating traffic congestion and negatively impacting the environment.
Our community also faces a dearth of recreational spaces. All over the world, parks, gardens, and theaters serve as vital community spaces that enhance the livability of any locality, yet we are deprived of such facilities. Additionally, there is an absence of proper parking areas, museums, and other tourist attractions which can contribute to cultural enrichment and economic growth. All these missing elements are crucial for the town's development and welfare.
Declaring Hinjawadi and surrounding villages as a larger Municipal Corporation would ensure adequate funding, structured planning, and a dedicated civic body to address and rectify these issues. This change would not only improve the living conditions but also bolster IT Park's potential as a thriving urban area conducive to growth and investment.
We appeal to the Maharashtra State Government to acknowledge the needs of its residents and take swift action towards declaring Hinjawadi, Maan, Marunji, Nere, Gahunje, etc. as a Municipal Corporation. This decision will pave the way for a brighter future for all of us who call this place home, office, etc.
Join us in this urgent call for change to create a better quality of life, and ensure sustainable development in Hinjawadi. Please sign this petition to make our voices heard and bring about this much-needed transformation.
