Dear supporters,

The 2022 Federal election is upon us.  It's important to understand how your vote may affect climate action.  Scott Morrison declined to receive or comment on this petition.  We will never get adequate climate action from the Liberal party. 

Climate analytics has ranked political parties and Independents climate policies.  They found that Liberal policies are consistent with 3 degrees of warming.  Labor's are consistent with 2 degrees.  Only the Independents who support Zali Steggall's Climate Change bill plus The Greens have policies which would limit warming to 1.5 degrees.

3 degrees of warming would be apocalyptic with severe food and water insecurity, climate conflict and a reduction in quality of life.  

The difference between 1.5 and 2 degrees sounds small, but it means having or not having coral reefs, significant differences in crop yields and ice free arctic summers once every 100 years, or once every 10.

An effective govt would aim for 1.5 degrees and for that we need to consider voting for the people who will enact this - the climate 'teal' independents, progressive minor parties who support Steggall's bill and The Greens, with preferences to Labor.

Going forward, we need an Independent Climate Commission to ensure our future is protected by science, not by political interests. 

Use your vote wisely - our future depends on it.  I’m voting for Nicolette Boele in Bradfield and Jane Caro in the Senate.  The Greens and Labor have my preferences.  Will you also vote to prioritise climate?
