"We apologise for the delay in responding to this correspondence, the Department for Education will be providing information to our office by early next week and the Minister will then respond back to you."

So far two cases have been reported to us as being approved without the second signature in the last week or so, and that DECD are taking it case by case seeking legal advice on each individual case. I have not been following or chasing up approvals from individuals so there may be more who have been successful, I'm not sure myself.

Good news or are they just trying to improve their stats short term?

If your a single parent try applying with evidence :
- quote the Sunday mail
- attatch supporting data such as
* How often the other biological parent sees the child
* Police Reports
* Relevant correspondence from the other biological parent
* A statement signed by a JP
* Paperwork stating your percentage of care from child support / centrelink
* Any other supporting data

PLEASE APPLY anyway - your application will help us turn this for SA. Even if you've been put off from applying from ANYONE in DECD. Let's make their stats on our side!

Currently they are seeking legal advice on a case to case basis & some people have had success bypassing the two signature rule by providing a paper trail with their application.
