Just wanted to post an update to the petition as to where we are now with this criminal case. Ponce's Law swiftly became a bill to ensure stricter, harsher punishment and no contact or owning animals for persons convicted of the aggravated animal cruelty statute which is a third degree felony. What a great victory for the animals!! The criminal case against Ponce's owner, Travis Archer, is currently in the appeals court waiting on a decision from the Judges on the ruling in the case. We expect to have that soon and the case will return to the "lower" courts to continue. I am confident that we will have a favorable ruling. Once we get the ruling then I will post it here to keep you updated. We are not done with this issue because Ponce's killer has not been brought to justice yet in the court system.
