The Daytona Beach News Journal did an article on Ponce's Law, HB 473, with statements from our sponsor, State Representative Tom Leek. In addition to the no contact, owning, of animals, etc., the bill allows Judges more freedom in sentencing the abuser to jail or prison. The law gives the points needed so the Judge will not have to provide a written statement of finding, making it easier for sentencing.
