Update: 1/23/2024 - Rabbit gets confiscated from UF fraternity brothers following Barstool video

Update: 1/17/24 - Colby the bunny from the video is now safe with the rescue! 

The terrified rabbit in the Instagram video referred to as a "Frabbit" is seen frozen in fear for it's life and possibly in shock displaying a natural response to a predator attack that could result in injury, illness from high stress or death.

It appears a student at UF, (University of Florida) enjoys terrorizing a pet domestic rabbit in the name of his fraternity Kappa Sigma.  While the crowd is loudly screaming and loud music plays the rabbit is being mishandled on stage, held up in the air and swayed around for the crowd.  

To a person not educated in rabbit care this video may not appear alarming, however rabbits are prey animals, fragile and have an intense fear of being lifted from the ground, cannot tolerate loud crowded atmospheres and can easily go into shock and have a heart attack from fear and high stress.  This despicable display of irresponsible animal cruelty to a helpless prey animal is not acceptable.

We the petitioners respectfully ask the student to release the rabbit to a rabbit rescue immediately!  

We ask Dean Yorkowitz to stop allowing animals to be terrorized in the name of fraternities at the University of Florida and to honor their policy of not allowing pets to live on campus or in family housing.  We ask Dean Yorkowitz to reprimand this student.

We also ask Dean Yorkowitz to ensure there are no more rabbits (Frabbits) living at the campus or family housing that can be mistreated at the University in such cruel acts.
