Dealing With Animal Abuse

The Issue

It is a big problem that has long been ignored, swept under the rug, or addressed with minimal consequence. That problem is animal abuse. Across the globe, animals suffer unimaginable cruelty, yet the systems we rely on to protect them too often turn a blind eye. Local governments, law enforcement agencies, and shelters may appear to address these issues, but the reality is that animals are repeatedly left vulnerable or even returned to their abusers.

People take action. We call the police, contact shelters, sign petitions, and protest in hopes that our voices will lead to change. But all too often, those actions feel like they fall on deaf ears. Why is this happening? Why are our efforts met with such little progress?

One country that urgently requires attention right now is China, where a particularly horrific group has been broadcasting the abuse and torture of cats live on the messaging app Telegram. This has been ongoing for months, perhaps even longer, and yet no meaningful intervention has been made. Imagine the horror that has been unleashed upon these animals—cats are tortured and killed for an audience, with zero accountability. It’s been more than five months since I wrote this petition, and the situation continues with no end in sight. Every day, more animals suffer, with no protection or justice.

It's essential to realize that this issue isn’t limited to China alone. Animal abuse occurs worldwide, even here in America, with many people choosing to ignore it. However, this isn’t just about countries or borders; it’s about a global issue that demands collective action. Animals, regardless of where they are, look to us as protectors. They are innocent, vulnerable, and defenseless, relying on us to stand against evil in all its forms.

This petition is a call to governments, law enforcement agencies, and organizations worldwide: Take a stand. Strengthen laws, prosecute abusers, and make it impossible for these cruel acts to continue without severe consequences. Animals cannot speak for themselves—they need us to be their voice.

Let’s end this cycle of suffering. I urge each of you to take action by signing this petition and spreading awareness. Look up "Telegram Cat abuse," witness the horror for yourself, and let that be the fuel to drive change. Let’s create a world where animals are safe, cherished, and treated with dignity.

Stand up. Speak out. Protect those who cannot protect themselves.
