Albeit with mixed reception from the last two main installations, the franchise of Dead Rising was popular and successful. 

If Dead Rising 5 ever comes into existence, instead of (for example) doing a remake of Dead Rising 1, having the Xbox exclusive Dead Rising 3 for PlayStation could at least support the exposure of Dead Rising before the sequel.

All of Dead Rising installations on PlayStation seem to be selling well considering they're in decent placements on the best selling or most downloaded categories.

With Capcom having huge success with the Resident Evil Remakes, the zombie genre in video game is still clearly strong, 
so releasing Dead Rising 3 for PlayStation could have some success.
On another note, the Dead Rising community is also alive on media outlets, thus Dead Rising is clearly not dead to fans, even if Dead Rising 4 had complications and ruined itself in failing to make Dead Rising 5.

Regardless, porting a game into another console is much cheaper than creating a remake or a new IP, so it's technically decent easy money.
