Despite losing major movie roles due to allegations of domestic abuse by his former wife Amber Heard, Johnny Depp’s popularity continues to rise. One indication of that is that he’s got more than 10 million followers on Instagram, and that number continues to rise. And that’s after sharing only 18 posts.
Another indication of Depp’ popularity is a veritable army of supporters on twitter who continue to share in the actor’s fight to clear his name.
Amber Heard, meanwhile, barely has 4 million followers on Instagram, where she is recently posting pictures and videos of herself with her newly acquired baby.
Depp’s character prior to Heard’s accusations is that of a kind, gentle, loving and generous fellow, and that’s the impression that continues to shine through.
Heard’s character prior to her relationship with Depp is that of someone who’s been arrested for domestic violence with a history of shady motives, and that’s the impression that’s hanging around her, despite new motherhood.
Heard supporters say that Heard’s a mommy now, so the whole thing with Depp should be dropped, and that his supporters should move on. Depp’s supporters, however, insist that he deserves to have his name cleared, and that she should face justice for her misdeeds whether she’s a new mom or not.
Regardless of public opinion either way, the two actors will square off early next year in a defamation case that Depp leveled against Heard after she labeled him as her abuser repeatedly after a divorce settlement that included an NDA.
We’ll just have to wait and see how that goes. And we’ll have to wait and see which of the two really is ready to put the issue to bed and move on, whichever way it comes out.
In the meantime, Heard insists that she’s involved in Aquaman 2, while Depp and his production company, Infinitum Nihil, have dozens of projects in the works.
