Amber Heard is all set to fly to London next month and testify in Johnny's libel suit against the Sun newspaper. The question I have is WHY? As I understand it, she doesn't have to. Has she been subpoenaed? 

There are only two reasons I can think of that she would show up uninvited and pitch her two cents into the ring. 

First, a toxic narcissist will to anything to try to save face. and they're masters of playing the victim. Amber Heard would likely jump at any chance to vilify Johnny and paint herself as the poor, terrorized victim of his unbearable abuse.

Primarily, I think she's going to talk about those texts that Johnny wrote to Paul Bettany. You know, the ones where Johnny talked about burning and drowning Amber, then fucking her dead corpse to make sure she's dead. Anybody with half a brain knows that abuse victims often fantasize that their abuser would die so that the abuse could stop. Johnny was venting to his friend about his abuser. He would never do such a thing. He said so in the very same text.

But Amber's likely won't play it that way. I'm willing to bet real money that she's going to show up and use that text to portray herself as a victim who was afraid for her very life. "He was planning to KILL me!" She'll probably testify, dabbing at the corner of her eye with a tissue. 

Her testimony will have no bearing on the Sun case, because nothing can change the fact that Amber is the one who abused Johnny. No. What she's doing is setting up her testimony so that it will be a matter of record, so that she can use it in Johnny's defamation suit against her.

She plays the long game, let's not forget. She took "damning" photos and set herself up as the victim for probably the entirety of their relationship, knowing what she was ultimately going to do. I wouldn't doubt that the same thing is going on here.

The other reason the I can think of for her to show up and testify is to try to rattle Johnny, who will most likely be there. It's possible that she wants him to see her and fall to pieces, lose his resolve, or make a mistake and say something stupid.

Think about how crazy stupid in love with her he was. Is that really gone from within him? Or does he still have a soft spot for his "made up" ex wife? Could he see her, go all mushy and drop the defamation case?

I don't think so.

Four years is a long time, and a lot of things can happen. One of those things is that Johnny has recovered himself. He's gotten back who he is, and he's steeled his resolve to defend himself against allegations that just aren't true. Seeing her isn't going to make him lose that. If anything, seeing her will strengthen his resolve.
