David Lammy Must Resign: For Complicity in Israeli War Crimes & Lying to British Public
The Issue
As Foreign Secretary, David Lammy has repeatedly told Parliament, and the public, that UK military exports to Israel were limited to 'defensive' items, such as protective gear and goggles, and that we were not sending weapons parts or items directly to Israel.
This was a lie.
A new report, Exposing UK Arms Exports to Israel (May 2025), analysed Israeli import data and found that UK firms exported thousands of military items to Israel, including bombs, grenades, and armoured vehicle components. This occurred despite the UK government's suspension of key arms export licences in September 2024.
Furthermore, the UK's arms export system includes 'open licences', which allow for the transfer of unlimited quantities of listed military items without the requirement to report what is transferred. This lack of transparency facilitates the continued export of components for the F-35, one of the most lethal jets in the world, that is being used by Israel to drop bombs across all areas of Gaza.
Tens of thousands of Palestinians have been killed, including over 17,000 children - very conservative numbers given that Palestinians' deaths in Gaza can only be recorded at hospitals, which are decimated and thousands of bodies remain under rubble and in mass graves.
In addition, RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus remains shrouded in secrecy, with British reconnaissance aircraft flying repeated surveillance missions over Gaza since the beginning of the genocide.
The UK government has refused to clarify what intelligence is being shared with Israel or whether it is contributing to the targeting of civilians or at the bear minimum witnessing crimes against humanity.
There is nothing defensive about our governments actions and Lammy is front and centre of this - making vague assurances in Parliament that we're hands-off and and on the side-lines, when we are not.
Lammy has failed every ethical and legal test. He has dismissed Palestinian voices, ignored international legal experts, and actively shielded and aided a state under investigation for war crimes.
We demand:
- An immediate end to UK arms exports to Israel
- A full public inquiry into UK participation in Israeli war crimes
- David Lammy’s resignation from public office, for misleading Parliament and enabling mass killing
This extends to other key figures: Hamish Falconer, Parliamentary Under-Secretary for the Middle East, and Keir Starmer himself - who visited Akrotiri, thanked troops, and openly refused to say what Britain is doing in Gaza.
No more lies. No more blood on Britain’s hands.
MPs who are compromised by a foreign state that is committing war crimes are not fit to lead.
Accountability now.
