Aloha. The State legistlature has thrown us half a bone for a compromise where they reduced the original $50 a year registration to $27. But that's not including $13 Safety and $5 licensing. It's still triple what we pay now. And even the Sheri Kajiwara, director of the city's Department of Customer Services who is supposed to be helping set up the safety check system says it'll be real touch and go. And the reality is that if they allow non moped shops to do safetys, they'll probably FAIL many that would have passed if someone WHO KNOWS mopeds checked them. Call, email, write, go down to your moped shop and tell them to get involved as it could impact their livelyhood. A representative's staff said that businesses speaking up can have more political impact then just regular citizens alone. We have to work together! Without the moped shops , we have NO mopeds or service to begin with! Help us help the moped shops help you by asking them to put in a word . Direct them toward our petition and contacts on how to write the Governor: Best way to ask for a veto/by old fashioned letter . If send, write here Address it to : Attn: Governor David Ige Executive Chambers Hawaii State Capitol 415 South Beretania St. Honolulu , Hi 96813 Please email the Governor DIRECTLY here asking for him to VETO the BILL. http://governor.hawaii.gov/contact-us/contact-the-governor/ Please share this with any and all who can help and write! Thank you!
