Attached is a photo showing how the attorney that is now representing Adam Yancer as pertains to the murder of Xaiver West, knows the Prosecuting Attorney and Police Cheif. Attorney Johnson provided media with a statement saying that Yancer would be claiming self defense. In a story published by the Battle Creek Enquirer last night, these statements were provided by Gilbert and Blocker.

Gilbert admitted that he has been at the Cricket and knows Fulton. He said he once held a campaign fundraiser in the business. "I know him but I don't socialize with him. He might be a Republican delegate but he doesn't come to the meetings," Gilbert said.

Blocker also dismissed a conflict of interest.

”That same logic could be applied to about any incident across all domains including schools, hospitals or any different organization you could suggest," Blocker said. "We live in the community and (the public) wants us to live here, work here, play here and raise your family here but (they say) we don't really want you to do policing here."
He said the shooting involved suspects and victims who live in the community and "we remain neutral and transparent. To suggest an officer went there and had a drink doesn't mean we have a conflict."
