Request to consider tuition fee & allow a year of PSW for Nepalese Students to support the impact of earthquake in Nepal.

The Issue

This petition is about providing some flexibility to Nepalese students in immigration rules and thus, provide the option to stay here for a certain time so that they can happily return home when things start getting normal again

We would be grateful to David Cameron and his government, charity organizations and all well-wishers of Britain who extended their helping hands by providing relief fund and operating relief response teams in Nepal.

Sadly, we as a Nepalese international students, have been directly or indirectly affected by the Nepal quake. Some of Nepalese students living in UK have lost their families and friends and their properties have collapsed. Many of their families have been forced to live out on the streets and in the parks under tents. They have also been hit by scarcity of foods, clean drinking water and medical supplies. WHO and Gov of Nepal has already warned of possible epidemic diseases like cholera, malaria and typhoid.

Living has been the primary priority in Nepal as we witnessed two major quakes of 7.8 and 7.4 within 14 days this month. The psychological instability along with economic and political crises have made life in Nepal uncertain at this point of time. As a student living abroad here in UK, we did take initiative and organised various charity events and peaceful gathering for an earthquake relief campaign for Nepal. However, we do feel that the UK government should consider our current situation and loosen immigration rules for Nepalese students temporarily and provide them full work permits for certain time so that they can return home with some money to recover their financial losses.

We are not even in the condition to pay our full time international student tuition fees. The UK ,being a birthplace of human rights, has always been forward in humanitarian work and we believe that our voice of pain will be heard. Therefore, we humbly request you to consider our tuition fees, visa application fees and some immigration constraints and at least a year of transitional PSW to recover our debts and support our families back home.

We will always value and respect the opportunity and the measures that UK government has taken to honour genuine international students.
We would like to request all Nepalese students living in UK and everyone who supports our cause to sign the petition and help to come out of this difficult situation.

Sincere thanks from the bottom of our hearts for taking time to read our appeal and advise and support us with this issue.
