Good morning everybody! So, in the last 24 hours everything's gone through the roof. The story's made the Daily Mail, the Sun, the Express, the Metro, and a few other choice newspapers. I even got wind of it being reported on the local ITV news yesterday evening. This is absolutely insane, the signatures have gone through the roof and doubled in the last day (144,000 signatures and counting!), and I can't thank you all enough. Even celebrities such as Cher Lloyd have now seen and shared the petition, and that's mental! There have been a couple of comments on the fundraising page suggesting that I am not real, or that I may be siphoning funds. This I can assure every one of you beautiful people is 100% not the case, I am 100% genuine and all proceeds will be going to Middlesborough and South Tees RSPCA branch. I will be getting in touch with this branch today by phone to find out how exactly they want me to donate (cheque, bank transfer, etc), and I will also follow this up by email. I will screenshot the email and their response, and attach it into my next update for everyone to see. I of course understand some people are mistrusting of online fundraisers, and I can't blame them, however I wouldn't have taken this to the national media if I didn't plan to do as I say, as it is a crime in itself. The reason for doing a fundraiser myself rather than encouraging people to donate directly is because I want the money to go to the specific branch, and the publicity this has gained over such a sensitive subject is more likely to gain real traction and make a difference to the bigger picture. On a lighter note, I will be contacting the CPS and DPP in the next day or two when I have a moment outside of work during the working day, as I need to get the ball rolling there. I want a resolution to this petition, as every single one of you does as well! We're way closer to our end goal less than a week in though, and you all have yourselves to thank for that!
