Last night, someone jammed a firework in a friends keyhole and lit it, it melted the keyhole and part of the door - this could have ended far worse. People light them in residential area's waking up young children - most children are in bed by 7.30 - 8pm. Fireworks in my area went off at 10.45pm on 3/11/14. Young adults, with no regard for animals or people, set them off to scare people or prank, not knowing the full dangers. Animals are reported to be tortured year in year out by some relentless thug with fireworks. Last year a cat had one shoved up its hind and lit. Pets are terrified. People have no respect or regard for others, fireworks have been set off up to two weeks prior to November 5th, simply because someone has easily purchased some. I, and many others would feel much safer and happy knowing that only councils, large businesses or public houses who have pre-planned a display can purchase fireworks purely for this reason as a pose to the general public. Not everyone poses a danger with fireworks in hand, but that danger would be removed if this happened.
