Fireworks are very dangerous in the wrong hands.

Even sparklers get five times hotter than cooking oil.

The Royal College of Optometrists claims that 10 people a year lose their sight through fireworks, and in 2005 (the last year in which statistics were recorded) the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents found that almost 1,000 people were injured by fireworks. This costs the NHS dearly.

People find them unsettling, especially the elderly and vulnerable.

Animals are scared and often threatened.

Our Firefighters and other public services  spend countless hours attending fires and answering complaints.

We call for the Government to ban the sale of Fireworks and make them something available via safe, well organised and spectacular displays.
