Because of your tireless efforts in demanding justice for David and Hannah, our petition has reached over 100,000 signatures and was personally handed in to the Prime Minister’s office at 10 Downing street on Friday.
As a result, Prime Minister David Cameron has pushed the issue personally with the Thai Prime Minister and has reached an agreement to let a team from the UK into Thailand to probe the investigation of these murders
As of now, we have contacted the Downing St liaison office and are still waiting on confirmation and clarification of what exactly this investigation entails as since Mr Cameron spoke with the Thai PM, there have now been reports in the Thai media of him playing down his promise since his return to Thailand. The Thai chief of police seems to be echoing this dismissal of help as well . We promise to update you all as soon as we have more information about what exactly all of these developments mean
I would also like to thank those that have been messaging me in private and helping to organize our protests and interactions with the media, Especially Melissa-Jane Frost, a PR and Social media expert, and Sandy Thin Mar Oo, A Burmese/Myanmar human rights activist as well as some others that wish to remain anonymous. Without all of their hard work none of the success we have had with this campaign would’ve been possible.
Until we can confirm that the UK police will be able to conduct and assist in the investigation, and not merely be paraded around as “observers” , we ask you all to please keep spreading our petition and for those of you in the UK to put pressure on your members of parliament to take up our cause in the House of Commons.
