Dear Friends https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J0WtOmgGOUo
Tourists continue to die needlessly on Koh Tao while Wai Phyo & Zaw Lin are still languishing on death row in the "Bangkok Hilton." This morning, the Samui Times published an article about the "drowning death" of a 22-year-old software engineer, Samyak Choudhary who could swim and was wearing a life vest. Strangely, when he was recovered face down in the water, it was reported that "some red bubble liquid came out from his nose." (see translated police report in the article: http://www.samuitimes.com/bereaved-father-pleads-with-tourists-to-take-precautions-after-his-son-dies-in-koh-tao/ )
This very strange death of March 2019 had remained unreported in the mainstream media until it was finally covered by the tiny Samui Times, which is produced outside the kingdom. Samyak's father seems to be facing problems in obtaining further details of the exact circumstances of the incident but one has to wonder whether Samyak was injured just before he entered the water or while he was in the water, which might explain the "red bubble liquid", possibly blood (?), coming from his nose. (I have previously observed that sometimes swimmers and divers are struck by passing boats in Koh Tao waters resulting in both deaths and injuries.)
Some of you will recall that an Argentine tourist, Rocio Gomez perished in December 2018 following her fatal first diving lesson with Pura Vida Diving. This tragic death was covered by the media in her home country but was not touched by the mainstream media within Thailand, except for the Samui Times.
Murders and fatal accidents on Koh Tao continue to be covered-up. However, we all have opportunities to shine a light on the problems by sharing these stories on our social media platforms.
I have once again attached a link to the rendition of "Death Island of the Setting Sun" performed by ColombeS Ran. Just by viewing the video in its entirety, you can help spread the word as this is what the YouTube algorithm likes. It helps even more if you can leave a positive comment beneath the video as this shows the algorithm that the video attracts "engagement" which in turn makes the video rank higher in search. (: Clicking "like" also helps so please help to spread the word!
I shall also attach links to a few other Koh Tao videos. Thank you and best wishes.. Ian Yarwood, Solicitor, Perth, Western Australia
