Dear All
On the 2nd March I started working with Crowd Justice, to help secure an Inquest into the circumstances of my brother David's death.
So far 900 kind donors have raised over £15,000 which has allowed us to instruct Solicitors to start proceedings.
Please see solicitors detail

We are continuously told we are the 6th richest country in the world but still the benefit cuts come and the benefit sanctions continue. Over the years we have seen many stories on the increase of food banks, children going to school hungry and more people now living on the streets.

A recent study published by the Joseph Rowntree Foundation found that in 2015 there were 1.25 million people in the UK who were defined at some point as destitute because they could not afford the basic essentials they needed to eat, keep clean and stay warm and dry.
Two-fifths of those destitute said they had experienced delays with their benefits and 30 % stated they have had their benefits sanctioned, while the study says that many of the most serious delays were associated with claiming or attempting to claim out-of-work disability benefits.
This should not be happening.

My brother David worked for almost 30 years of his life and then cared for our mother, David turned to the state for help, receiving benefits while he looked for work. He hit a difficult period in his life when he needed a little help and this can happen to anyone of us.

Article 25 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which the UK is a signatory, reads:
Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and of his family, including food, clothing, housing and medical care and necessary social services, and the right to security in the event of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood, old age or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his control.

I want to say again a huge thank you for your support and kindness, you truly are making a difference to the many who continue to suffer.

I also would like to thank Change.Org & Crowd Justice, who are also helping ensure true change is possible.

Thank you again,
