Yesterday, Countdown announced that they would be phasing out caged eggs under their own private label. This is a great step in the right direction, as it will save thousands of hens from lives in barbaric cages. This is thanks to people like you that care about hens and have taken action to help them. But.... there is still a way to go. Hundreds of thousands of chickens still suffer in cages so Countdown can make a profit. I am aiming for 20,000 signatures before I hand the petition in, and I am once again asking for your help to achieve this and show Countdown that we, as their customers, want this. We want change. In April, I'm going to hand in my petition, asking Countdown to go completely cage free. We, together, need to make the next month the most powerful. Please share the petition in any way you can, and get the message out there. Because if we can keep putting the pressure on Countdown for just a little longer, hens have a massive chance at freedom.
