Public Comment at DASD Board Meeting-01/06/22
Covid-19 hospitalizations among children in the US are soaring, fueled by the Omicron variant and the holidays, and adding pressure to already-strained health systems and schools.
An average of 672 children were being hospitalized every day in the US, as of 2nd January - more than double the average just a week before. And the rate is rapidly increasing.
Cases are also rising. more than million cases day before yesterday and 850 000 yesterday. There were more than 325,000 new cases among kids in the week ending 23rd December, a 64% increase from the previous week and nearly double the cases two weeks earlier, as per the American Academy of Pediatrics reported on Monday.
Experts are urging the use of every possible precaution, including tests, masks, vaccinations and even temporary accommodations to schools to curb both cases and staff shortages.
So We are requesting for a temporary optional virtual classes who ever chooses.
This option will help the kids to contain the virus a bit. get booster shots who ever wants it , attend the classes under quarantine and many more.
We have created a online petition which was already signed by more 800 parents.
We have emailed our request and the details to support our request. Please look into it and help the kids who ever needs this option during this challenging times.
