Vincent Veloz is a bright 25 year old man from Indiana. Anyone who has ever known him would describe him as hilarious, loving, and kind. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone as well as try to bring a smile to anyone's face. But deep inside Vincent was struggling. He became severely depressed having to split time with his 1 year old daughter who is undeniably his whole entire world. He attempted to get help, tried selling his gun, seeking a therapist. But was unsuccessful. (Proof publicly on his Facebook) On February 22nd, 2021 He went to his church with his gun in his hand crying and asking forgiveness, and attempted suicide. Anyone who knows Vincent knows he would NEVER hurt anyone. He was only a threat to himself. He was so deeply depressed. There were 4-5 other people at the church and once he was made aware there were other people in the building, he asked they safely be escorted out. Because it was NEVER his intent to harm anyone besides his own self. He has no criminal history and the Darke County Sheriff's Office in Greenville, Ohio is trying to charge him with a level 1 felony! Can you believe that? Instead of getting him psychological help they are going to charge him with a first degree felony! How sickening! And with that being said I encourage you to sign this petition and help Vincent get the proper help he needs. He needs therapy, not a different death sentence behind bars. "Since you want to charge a man who has never hurt a fly in his life with a level 1 felony after trying to take his, AND ONLY HIS, life... might as well charge every person with severe depression with a felony as well. It is clear it was a cry for help, he even attempted to get help on numerous occasions, without luck. And when he finally reached his breaking point went to God's house for forgiveness and was out to hurt only himself. Simply to take the pain away. And he even made sure to get the people inside, out, because AGAIN, HE HAD NO INTENTION OF HURTING ANYONE BUT HIMSELF! If you keep charging people with felonies that are this depressed you better make room at the coroner's office because even more people will resort to the same measures! Its bad enough he was depressed enough to attempt to take his own life, but do you really expect him to want to live with a FELONY to look forward to? When you are that manic in your depression, you don't know up from down, hot from cold. Your mind is just telling you "die" because the pain is so unbearable it cuts like a knife with every breath you take.
