Daniel Zeichner MP: Vote For An Immediate Ceasefire in Gaza
The Issue
Daniel Zeichner, we have signed this petition to tell you:
WE WON'T VOTE FOR GENOCIDE.
We call on you to
- Advocate for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza
- If a Commons motion is called in the upcoming weeks, VOTE FOR A CEASEFIRE
OR LOSE OUR VOTE IN THE GENERAL ELECTION.
Nearly 30,000 people have been killed in Gaza, including over 10,000 children, in four months. Tens of thousands more have been wounded. Millions are displaced. Millions are starving. As of 15th February, no aid has entered Gaza in 8 days. Hospitals, schools, mosques, churches and homes have been razed to the ground.
And Daniel Zeichner, MP for Cambridge, has said nothing publicly about this.
In November, Daniel Zeichner abstained from voting to call for the violence to stop.
On the 26th January, the International Court of Justice ruled that there was plausible evidence that Israel is conducting a genocide against the Palestinian people. The next day, the UK government cancelled funding for the aid organisation UNRWA after allegations against what turned out to be 4 of its 13,000 staff. The UK continues to export arms to Israel, even after the ICJ ruling and the copious evidence that they are being used in war crimes against civilians. As of the 15th February, the Israeli military is escalating a ground operation in Rafah, the last 'safe' place in Gaza, and the 1.4 million Palestinians sheltering there have nowhere left to go to escape intense shelling and raids.
And still Daniel Zeichner has said nothing.
Cambridge will not stand for this. We won't vote for genocide.
