Labour has let us down again. The ceasefire vote on Wednesday could have been a chance for U.K. politicians to seriously condemn Israel’s violent and genocidal actions in Palestine. Instead, they once again played politics as usual. 

This is serious. This is about children being bombed and starved. This is about an occupation that started in 1948. This is about Israel forcing millions into an area the size of Heathrow airport and carpet bombing them. This is about a genocide happening before our eyes and it’s about the UKs complicity in the deaths of thousands.

I was outside parliament on Wednesday night with thousands of others. We shouted “No Ceasefire, No Vote” so loud that we could be heard across the river Thames. I am sure that Daniel Zeichner and the rest of the Labour Party heard us too. They know that we saw Starmer’s pathetic amendment as a ceasefire only in name - a free pass for Israel to keep murdering people as they please.

Labour did not draw the line at genocide so we will not vote for Daniel Zeichner in the general election. We will not forget this.
