Hello everyone! Thank you all for your support. We are very grateful that you have signed our petition and to know that we have the support of many people who, like us, are dismayed at the neglect and destruction of Australia’s largest timber building, the heritage-listed Mount Buffalo Chalet. We are doing everything we can to save the ‘Grand Old Lady’ from her current situation and are trying to prevent the inevitable demolition that will occur unless Premier Daniel Andrews and his government agree to help save and restore the Chalet. For the past couple of months we have been working tirelessly to let as many people as possible know what is happening with the Chalet, while at the same time, letting many others know that the Chalet actually exists. The government needs to know they cannot flout their own heritage protection laws. The Chalet is possibly the biggest example in Australia of state approved ‘demolition by neglect’ of a heritage-listed and government owned building. We ask that you will help us again by spreading the word about the petition via email, face book, twitter and other media platforms to your family, friends, colleagues and anyone who has a passion for the protection of the Chalet and other heritage property’s across Victoria and Australia. To help build this movement even further, we need as many people as possible to sign our petition and be aware of the current situation. Please help us make sure the Mount Buffalo Chalet lives for future generations and that she also resumes her place as the number one attraction of Victoria’s North East. We need the Premier and the Government to know that a huge opportunity is being missed if the current situation continues. We thank you in anticipation of your ongoing support.
