As of today, 45,173 people have signed this petition calling for common sense safety ratings that include people outside of vehicles. WOW! I hoped to have as many signatures as number of people who were killed the same year Allie was (42,939 in 2021) and we're already past that. Thank you!
This petition has helped bring the attention of the media to the epidemic of traffic deaths, including the BBC, the Associated Press, CBS News, and others.
More importantly, I hope it has shown the many people here who have lost someone in this horrific way that you are not alone. Your voice, your story, and your loved one matter.
That's why I hope you'll take a moment and share on the Families for Safe Streets Storymap. We need to show our leaders - and frankly, our friends & neighbors - the human cost of continuing to do too little to stop these preventable deaths.
I also hope you'll join Families for Safe Streets, a national movement that fights for safe streets, with 20 chapters across the country working tirelessly for awareness, policy change, and legislation, and that provides support to those who have been affected by this crisis.
