Congress could make vehicles more dangerous for pedestrians–tell them NO!
That’s right. Members of the House of Representatives are deciding TODAY on amendments that stop requirements for live-saving technologies in vehicles. Over 42,000 people were killed last year in traffic crashes and some members of Congress want to do nothing to save lives.
Rep. Perry (R-PA) wants to prohibit a technology that detects pedestrians and applies the brakes before hitting someone. Rep. Massie (R-KY) wants to prohibit a technology that stops drunk drivers from getting behind the wheel.
Both technologies are proven to save lives and Congress included their adoption in the 2021 Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. Don’t let Reps. Perry and Massie overturn this important step to make walking safer; tell your Representatives to vote NO on amendments 20 and 93.
