We found out yesterday that 'food' has been in the curriculum since 2013 so we have removed the coma from between 'food' and 'growing' and added 'at the core of the school curriculum'.

This petition is about food growing and linking the growing of food to as many academic subjects on the curriculum as possible.  The Royal Horticultural Society has been doing an amazing job and has helped 5,500 schools set up gardens and veg patches and linked growing with teaching. Even the teachers are learning!

I love the comment in the RHS video from Blue Peter's Chris Collins: "We as humans have been growing food for millions of years and it is only in the last two decades that we have become shoppers, consumers and telly watchers. Spiritually kids have got gardening in them and when you get them out in the garden you see a real positive reaction."

To us this proves that we must get 'Food Growing' at the core of the curriculum when there are so many benefits to health and learning.
