(D.A.D)Denali Aiyana Native Rockfordian For Mayor

The Issue

I am Denali Diarmuid. I am a survivor, a parent, an advocate, and a tireless fighter for truth and justice. I have spent my life standing up for the vulnerable, amplifying the voices of those silenced by bureaucracy, abuse, and neglect. From grassroots activism to community service, I bring lived experience, courage, and unwavering commitment to leadership that listens, protects, and acts.

If you want, I can also craft a more personal, narrative-style version that weaves in your experiences with your son and your work in the community, so people immediately connect with your story. Do you want me to do that?

My nightmare began the day my son was taken from me— all because I had the courage to call 911 on an abusive man. Instead of protection, I was punished. My act of survival was turned against me by a system that should defend victims, not destroy them.

This isn’t just my story. It’s a reflection of broken leadership in Rockford—leadership that has failed to communicate, failed to protect, and failed to stand for the values we claim as a community. Mayor Thomas McNamara’s decisions, or lack thereof, have

left countless people like me without justice.

I am Denali Diarmuid. I have been an unrelenting advocate for truth, fairness, and the voices of the silenced. Under my leadership, no survivor’s story will be buried under bureaucratic indifference. I believe in accountability, empathy, and a Rockford where human rights aren’t negotiable.

By challenging Thomas McNamara for mayor, we have a real shot at change. This is more than politics—it’s about rebuilding trust, integrity, and community from the ground up. From Rock’s Bottom to the Arts is not just a grassroots movement—it’s love, healing, resistance, and a vision for the future.

I’ve walked over 100 miles on raw feet cleaning up our streets, because I care about this city. I don’t see McNamara losing his child for calling for help. I don’t see him living the reality too many of us face.

Sign this petition. Support leadership that listens, acts, and stands up for the vulnerable. I might have PCOS, I might be underestimated—but I am proof that strength comes in all forms, and I will fight for this city with everything I have.

Together, we can turn survival into transformation, and Rockford into a city that finally stands for its people.
