Rydym yn galw ar Gyngor Sir Powys i ddisgyblu y Cynghorydd wnaeth sylwadau israddol at yr Iaith, ac i roi hyfforddiant ymwybyddiaeth iaith i bob Cynghorydd

Disgrifiodd Cynghorydd o Bowys yr ymgyrch i ddysgu Cymraeg ym Mhowys fel "forcing the language" ar cymunedau oedd ddim yn defnyddio'r iaith. Mae'r Iaith Gymraeg yn perthyn i bawb yng Nghymru, ac mae ei hanes a'i thraddodiad yn ddwfn ym Mhowys. Ers canrifoedd mae'r sylwadau wrth-Gymraeg gan bobl fel y cynghorydd yma wedi gwneud dim heblaw rhannu cymunedau a thanseilio'r Iaith. Digon yw digon.

Dyma oedd sylwadau'r Cynghorydd:"I don't want to see the Welsh language forced upon every nook and cranny of Wales, including those communities whose traditions and cultures may not have the Welsh language embedded in them."

We are calling on Powys County Council to discipline the Councillor that made derogatory comments towards the Welsh Language, and to provide every councilor with language awareness training.

A Powys county councilor insulted the Welsh language and described efforts to teach the Welsh language as "Forcing the Language" . The Welsh Language is relevant to everyone in Wales, especially in Powys. For centuries the actions of people like this councilor has done nothing but split communities and attack the language. Enough is enough.
