Cut Fuel Prices Now – Stand Up for Our Community

Cut Fuel Prices Now – Stand Up for Our Community
The issue
I’m hearing it every day — families, workers, and small business owners across Kiama and the South Coast are struggling with rising fuel prices.
In communities like Kiama, Albion Park, Jamberoo, and Bomaderry, driving isn’t a choice. It’s how we get to work, take our kids to school, run our businesses, and stay connected. When fuel prices push past $3 a litre, it puts real pressure on household budgets and local jobs.
That’s why I’m calling for a temporary cut to the fuel excise.
Right now, the fuel excise sits at 52.6 cents per litre. Reducing it would deliver immediate relief at the bowser and help ease the cost-of-living pressures people in our community are facing right now.
I’m asking the NSW Labor Government to:
- Pick up the phone to the Federal Government and advocate for a temporary fuel excise cut
- Deliver practical, immediate cost-of-living relief
- Recognise that regional communities like ours are being hit harder
The reality is, city-based solutions don’t work here. We don’t have the luxury of frequent public transport or short commutes. Higher fuel costs flow through to everything — groceries, trades, and the cost of living more broadly.
Our community deserves a strong voice that will stand up and fight for real outcomes — not stay silent.
If you agree, I ask you to sign this petition and stand with me to demand action now.
