Some good news -

the whitewash investigation into my abusive arrest and interview last year has been overturned and sent back for re investigation.

To my dismay it has been given back to the same officer who not only failed me in this case but also in every other complaint I have made. We challenged her fitness to do so and received this reply:

“I would like to take this opportunity to assure you that the re-investigation has been reviewed by my supervisors and has been allocated to me. At the conclusion of my investigation it will then be quality assured by my line manager and my second line manager and you will be entitled to request a further review if you are dissatisfied.”

Superficially this looks good, but on looking more closely the quality assurance only takes place after the investigation has finished and conclusions have been reached by which time it is far too late for the quality assurance to prevent an unfair outcome.

Two possibilities, the first that the officer will be so determined to justify the original outcome that nothing good can come of it, but the other which we hope will be the case will be a greater determination to do it properly this time.

We live in hope.
