The Times of India covered our petition news in their Bangalore edition when we were at 500 supporters. Now we are at 10,000!
This is really heartening that how we read a news, got moved by the plight of our brothers and sisters and how we thought we should start this because we knew no other way.
We (Namrata, Pooja, Srusti, Madhavi, Gauri, Jeel) are grateful to each one of you. We have been trying to reach out to people who have been working in disability rights sector in Karnataka and in India, so together we can raise this concern for the students who are already facing a lot of issues yet sticking to the institute because there is no other for them. It is equally unfortunate and deeply concerning that in a city like Bangalore, the global IT hub, we don't have place and proper institute for the hard working, strong willed students from a special marginalized section.
This is where the authorities committed about shifting them but nothing has been done so far.
Please keep up the momentum and continue the support and keep sharing, tweeting and posting till the authorities act as per their commitment. Share this petition with everyone around you for signing so that we are in a stronger position to influence.
Let us join hand and let these students know, they are not alone #StopOrShift
