Crosswalk Needed at Mortimer and Dunkirk

Crosswalk Needed at Mortimer and Dunkirk
The Issue
In our neighbourhood we feel generally safe, the hospital is close by and there are plenty of daycares, preschools, elementary and secondary schools. Children and adults alike frequently fill out narrow sidewalks.
However, along Mortimer the road is not painted, there is no indication of parking spaces or how much of the road belongs to oncoming traffic. The sidewalks are narrow, visibility is low at the sharp corner of Binswood and there is a large section of road at the Les Anthony Parkette where it is unclear if a car has its indicator on whether it would be turning into Dunkirk or Southridge. On top of this, there is no safe way to cross between bustops on either side of Mortimer. Specifically, 62 Mortimer at Dunkirk and 62 Mortimer at Knight St.
We moved into the neighbourhood in 2019 and I have since filed 4 requests for attention to these issues with the city of Toronto. I nearly had a crosswalk approved but it was rejected without comment last winter. They have since added some signage to highlight that the speed limit is 40 or less, but this is not sufficient.
This petition is a matter of safety and accessibility for everyone, we need to resolve this issue urgently and in a preventative manner rather than waiting for something bad to happen and implementing a change too late.
