Justice for LillieLillie's Law

On Christmas morning, 2021, around 3am, my sister, Debbie, heard a knock on her front door, a knock that would change her life forever! It was every parent's worst nightmare… two police officers who asked Debbie if she was Lillie Clack’s mother. In that moment… everything changed.

Lillie had been involved in a car accident, and it was critical. Debbie and Lillie’s brother Michael needed to get a move on, the police needed to get them to the hospital quickly.

The days that followed were an emotional roller-coaster, hanging on to any little bit of hope the doctors would dare to give. Lillie’s family were with her throughout and Debbie and Michael never left Lillie’s side however, two years after a global pandemic they still experienced restrictions that given the situation being so critical seemed unnecessary.

On the 28th December 2021 at 4.55pm, Lillie’s heart stopped beating, and she went to sleep.

Lillie had been killed by a driver under the influence, he was speeding and failed to stop for the police.

How can it be right that our Lillie has been left to lay in a hospital mortuary for 3 weeks, she needs a postmortem to prove how she died while the driver is free to enjoy his life?

Something needs to change! Help us get justice for Lillie, her mum, brother and family.

  1. People that cause ‘Death’ whilst driving have their licence suspended immediately.
  2. People who are convicted of ‘Death by dangerous driving’ should receive the 25 years courts can give (law changed on the 28th June 2022
  3. People that are sentenced for ‘Death’ by driving whilst under the influence are NEVER permitted to drive again… it should be a lifelong consequence for their actions

Please help us and sign our petition. Our family have gone through the worst experience that you could imagine following that knock on the door Christmas morning… and it continues while the police have to gather evidence to prove Lillie was killed by injuries sustained in the accident. She is not the bad guy here!

The law needs to change! If it doesn’t, people will continue to die and families will continue to endure the torment and torture after losing a loved one.

We will never get Lillie back and the experience so far can’t be changed but we will fight to endeavour that no other family has to go through the hell that comes after a loved one has been killed by a driver that made a choice to drive recklessly and dangerously!
