Crestwood Skatepark Upgrade - 2025

The issue

The Australian Bureau of Statistics documented that Baulkham Hills is home to over 150,000 people and more than 40,000 kids. My brother and I love Baulkham Hills and we have a deep passion for skating. Many in our community share this passion. Our family spends time together at the Crestwood skatepark and snakepit and we love meeting with friends and the community in this space.

Unfortunately the Crestwood skatepark is in desperate need of a remodel to create a more social, modernised, safer, usable, and fun recreational space!

Crestwood skatepark is currently uninviting and run-down, leaving a valuable community facility underutilized.

We see potential in the large, underused areas surrounding the Crestwood skatepark and snakepit. Creating a better skatepark would be a meaningful improvement for local kids, providing them with a much-needed space to pursue their passions, socialize, and stay active.

We believe these areas are perfect to upgrade because they are well-distanced from local housing, minising noise or other impacts on local residents. Moreover, Crestwood reserve is a highly utilised recreational space, and our population continues to grow, increasing the need for immediate action.

Balcombe Heights Skatepark, a recently upgraded facility, is a testament to the benefits of modernising and improving these recreational spaces. The Hills Shire Council emphasised that its renewal would "not only allow people to enjoy their hobby but also enhance... [the] residents’ quality of life and encourage active lifestyles." The Council also stated that the improvement of the skatepark would “create a family-friendly space for everyone to enjoy for years to come.”  These words proved true. Following the redevelopment, the skatepark has become a welcoming space where people of all skill levels come together and enjoy their passion. It is now so busy that we need other spaces just like it.

With your support, we can advocate for these much-needed improvements and bring new life to Crestwood Skatepark. Sign this petition to help make it happen! I plan to take this petition to our local Council - so please share this with others who agree that we should continue to upgrade, and contribute positively, to our local community.
