The Issue

Growing up in Greenville, SC, my friend and I (both rising sophomores) have always shared a passion for agriculture. As students, we recognize the importance of honoring academic achievement and integrity, especially in fields that are essential yet underrepresented. That's why we envision the creation of the Honors Association of Agriculture - a club that celebrates and supports students committed to excelling in studies while maintaining a high standard of behavior.

Despite Greenville’s rich agricultural history and its importance to the local economy, there has not been an honors club dedicated specifically to agriculture students. Establishing this honors association would not only fill this void but also inspire countless students to pursue agricultural sciences and acknowledge their hard work.

The Honors Association of Agriculture would require students to demonstrate academic excellence through a GPA requirement, ensuring that members are committed to their educational pursuits. Additionally, maintaining a high standard of behavior would be essential for membership, cultivating a culture of respect and responsibility among peers.

We believe this club will provide numerous benefits: offering networking opportunities, promoting leadership skills, and fostering a deeper appreciation for agriculture’s role in society. It also presents an opportunity for Greenville to highlight its commitment to education and its agricultural roots.

Support us in creating a platform that not only honors academic and behavioral excellence in agriculture but also nurtures the next generation of agricultural leaders. Sign this petition to bring the Honors Association of Agriculture to life in Greenville, SC, and help us pave the way for future agricultural innovators.
