These are just a handful of the films and franchises that have seen stunt performers put their talents and literal lives on display since the very beginnings of cinema for the benefit of the motion picture industry, thrilling audiences around the globe for generations. Helping Hollywood studios and production companies gross billions upon billions of dollars worldwide, stunt men and women have enriched the industry both creatively and monetarily while seeing little to no prestige or awards acknowledgement for their critical, essential, and industry changing work.

It's time we change that.

By signing this petition, you are agreeing that it's well past time for the award and category for Best Stunts be created by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences and implemented beginning with the 2024 Academy Awards. 

We propose that the nominee(s) for each award be the stunt coordinator(s) for the nominated films, and/or who the production of the eligible and nominated films sees fit.

Through so doing this will not only create a vibrant and exciting award that will not only help modernize the Oscars, but also create new audience buzz and enthusiasm, plus awareness for the awards themselves - and there ain't anybody that can complain about that!
