Please do not close your eyes and ears or turn away from hearing our heartfelt request to honor our late brother and friend, Levi Wilson, within the world of World of Warcraft.

On July 30th, 2024, the World of Warcraft community lost one of its most passionate players, Levi Benjamin Wilson.

 

 

Levi was not just a beloved brother, son, and friend, but also an avid WoW player who found joy and camaraderie within the game’s vast universe. His untimely passing has left a void in the hearts of all who knew him, both in real life and in the WoW community.

This is his story: 

Levi Wilson was one of a set of triplets born to my parents in 1997. He was not supposed to survive delivery, and when he did he was immediately rushed to surgery in order to save his life. Levi was a fighter from the beginning. 

I started playing WoW in 2007, at 15 years old. My little brother Levi was 10 years old, and he watched me play for two years until at 12 years old my parents finally paid for him to have his own account so we could play together. Soon all four of us brothers were playing WoW together, and through the years ALL of our friends joined in. 

 

 

He passed away on July 30, 2024, at the age of 27, in a tragic accident. He was driving down the road he lived on, the same road he grew up on, when a bad storm suddenly arose and a tree fell and crushed him in his car. All of us, friends, family, and our local community are still in shock and grieving over the loss of our beloved Levi. 

 

 

He was on his way home to play World of Warcraft with his brothers and friends. 

Levi’s legacy is one of love, an unmistakable laugh, and the simple pleasures of life. His infectious positivity touched all who knew him throughout his life, and over and above all - he was dedicated to his friends. Out of this tragedy our local community raised over $10,000 in less than 3 hours to cover funeral costs, and as of writing this the total is over $20,000. But with this petition we have another hope, a different plea: 

Levi devoted his life to World of Warcraft for 15 years.

Levi’s adventures in the World of Warcraft: 

Levi's presence in World of Warcraft was more than just a player; he was a beacon of positivity and support, always willing to lend a hand or share a moment of joyous victory with fellow adventurers. 

He was inspired as a young gamer by the awesome generosity of the high-level passer-by who would randomly drop gold in your pocket or show up just in time as you ran from a flock of foes you had aggro’d. He marveled at the legendary gear that caught his eye in the city streets. He groaned his way through Ganklethorn Vale as a young boy, and soared on the high of an OG Alteric Valley win. Onward: he was first to play every expansion on release day, even up to his last moments in this world, he was eagerly awaiting the coming expansion and hyping all of us up for it. 

Levi surpassed us all. He was the master. He knew the lore. He knew the mechanics of every class. If we ever beat him in a duel it’s only because he let us win. 

 

 

Levi was not a renowned streamer, or famous YouTuber, although over the years we all begged him to start streaming - because of how much we - his friends - loved to watch him play. People would legitimately eat meals sitting behind him and watch him play. But in reality, he was just a simple gamer. He genuinely just loved to play the game. 

If you have played WoW, then you can see, Levi is all of us. He embodied the spirit of adventure and competition that beckons you to the World of Warcraft. The game, in turn, shaped him. He was just as adventurous, generous, and humble in the real world as he was in the game. 

Our request to Blizzard: 

We, the undersigned, are calling on Blizzard Entertainment to honor Levi Benjamin Wilson by creating an NPC in World of Warcraft. This NPC would not only serve as a tribute to Levi’s memory but also stand as a testament to the profound impact that a single player can have on the community. Just as Blizzard has honored other players and notable figures in the past, we believe that Levi’s legacy deserves to be immortalized within the game he loved so dearly.

 

 

 

This tribute could inspire players to embody the values Levi represented – kindness, generosity, and a passion for adventure. It would remind veteran players of the joy in helping others and encourage new players to embrace the community aspect of the game. The NPC could become a gathering point for players to share stories, offer assistance, or simply remember the impact that one person can have on many. In this way, Levi's legacy would continue to foster the sense of camaraderie and mutual support that makes World of Warcraft more than just a game, but a second home for millions. This tribute would stand as a testament to the power of gaming communities to create lasting, meaningful connections that transcend the virtual world.

We propose an NPC named 'Levi the Adventurer,' a pet vendor, which would embody Levi's love of animals

Creating this NPC in Levi’s honor would provide a place for his friends and family to remember him, and for the WoW community to celebrate the life of a fellow gamer who embodied the spirit that unites us all. It would be a meaningful gesture that acknowledges the importance of every player in the World of Warcraft universe.

We kindly ask Blizzard Entertainment to consider this request and help us preserve Levi’s memory in a way that reflects his passion and love for World of Warcraft. Thank you for your consideration and support.
