Currently, Vevo offers a variety of live music channels that can be watched on your TV. These channels consist of an endless series of music videos in a given genre. These live music channels are available on many services, such as the Vevo Roku App, Hulu + Live TV, Pluto TV, Samsung TV Plus, and Apple TV Vevo App. Vevo has live music channels for pop, country, hip-hop, rock, etc. However, Vevo does not have a live music channel for Christian music or something broader, such as positive and encouraging music.

We want a Vevo live “Positive & Encouraging” music channel.

We want this channel to consist of a wide variety of music that has a positive and encouraging message and is safe for the whole family. We envision this channel to have a mix of Christian music and secular music.

The reasons that we believe so strongly in this live music channel are:

1. We believe this live “Positive & Encouraging” music channel will have mainstream popularity. Recent Christian music is breaking genre boundaries and starting to have a much wider appeal. For example, Brandon Lake’s song “Hard Fought Hallelujah” debuted as #1 on the All-genre Digital Song Sales chart. Similarly, Brandon Lake’s song “That’s Who I Praise” reached #1 on the Billboard AC chart and #1 on the Mediabase Audience chart. Other artists have also crossed these genre boundaries, like We Are Messengers in their song “Come What May,” which hit #1 on the Billboard AC and #1 on the Mediabase Audience and Mediabase AC charts. These are only a few examples of Christian music being popular with a much wider audience. 

2. This channel could help spur a coming together of many different types of people. This channel could help expose people who haven’t heard Christian music to the message of Jesus. Similarly, this channel could expose people who only listen to Christian music to many other positive, encouraging, and family-friendly songs.

3. Our hope for this “Positive & Encouraging” channel is that, for some, this channel will help shape their thoughts and beliefs about life and Jesus. Some pastors who preach on TV have shared stories of former nonbelievers who came to know Jesus because they were flipping through the TV channels and came across a TV sermon sharing the message of Jesus.

4. This live music channel will serve as a refuge to the many of us out there who are tired and weary. Currently, many of the TV channels do not provide positive and encouraging options - e.g., bleak news, bickering on reality TV, and emotionally tense TV dramas. This channel will serve as an alternative that provides the engaging experience that many of us are looking for with visuals and sound, with the added benefit of being content that elevates our mood.

We want this music channel to be available everywhere that your other live channels are available (Vevo Roku App, Hulu + Live TV, Pluto TV, Samsung TV Plus, Apple TV Vevo App).
