Create A Tamarac Police Department

The Issue

In order to protect and improve our beautiful city, we need our own police department.
Community Policing lowers fear within a city and allows residents to create a deeper connection to their deputies. (University of Kansas)
Residential and long term police officers will collaborate and cooperate to solve issues of criminal activity
Tamarac has made national news twice in the past year for police misconduct
Tamarac had it's own police department prior to 1989
More than half of our residents (55%) identify as a minority, so safe community policing must be a priority. ( US Government Data)
Former Chief of Tamarac BSO, Neil Glassman publicly said there was an ongoing “crisis” between the city and his agency.He said there was a “ complete lack of faith” between these two agencies.
We are NOT anti BSO, we are Pro-Tamarac.
Other amazing cities like Coral Springs have their own Police department.
