Create a Fenced, Off-Leash Dog Run at Natham Square Park.

The Issue

There is an urgent need for a purpose - built  off - leash, safe, fenced run for dogs in Swan View. Currently, dog owners need to travel considerable distances to Whiteman Park and Bayswater to find a safe, properly fenced, fit for purpose facility.

The Council has looked at creating such a venue in the heavily treed area on the southern side of Natham Square Park. There would be no need to interfere with the grassed oval, or the children's playing area It's actually a superb site, perfect for what's so desperately needed.

Deput Mayor Ian Johnson has recommended the community start a petition to express support for the concept, in order for the City of Swan to gauge the need.

What's needed, is two fenced enclosures, with double entry gates for each enclosure: One enclosure for Small Dogs (10kgs and under) and one for Large Dogs (10kgs+). Both enclosures to have water points for the dogs and seating for people. Consideration should also be given to a third enclosure for reactive / aggressive dogs that can't be socialised with other dogs.

To sign the petition, you must be a resident of the City of Swan. Please sign and let others in your circle of family friends know, so they too can support our dog loving community.

It's very important that you input your address, as well as the other fields - it's what the City of Swan will use to ensure each person is a resident of the City.

Cheers.
