Happy New Year?

Hello everyone!
Cass here: Apologies for the break in updates over the season. I hope all of you had a wonderful time with family and friends and that you all have good things to come for you in 2023.
All of us - Rachel, Sarah and myself - had relapses, illness, hospital appointments and so on to contend with, meaning we didn’t do as much as we liked to promote the petition and campaign. I knew we would have a tremendous amount of work to do to promote it this year.
So it was a GIANT (but great ) shock to open up the account yesterday to see we had hit 58,000 signatures! And coming this morning to write this update, I see we gained another 7,000 overnight and it’s now sitting at 65,000!
All we can say is a tremendous thank you: The bad news for me (Cass) gets worse and worse. My compensation claim against my employer has failed and it really was the last ditch attempt to see if I could save my home. I have also been formally diagnosed with something that psychologises Long Covid, which was frustrating.
Rachel, Sarah and I have made contributions to an ongoing piece of work talking about the impact of Long Covid on healthcare professionals, but there’s no fixed date yet for its release. We would like to thank all the journalists who we have spoken to about our stories for listening to us and helping raise the issues and unpleasant futures we are facing.
My last few days have been about completing the council housing list ahead of having to sell my home, as well as making plans to talk to my registering body and union about what benefits I might be entitled to. I know there are thousands of key workers in exactly the same boat as I am. It should not be like this.
So thank you, once again, to everyone who has signed the petition supporting our campaign. If you wouldn’t mind sharing and mentioning it on social media or to friends, colleagues and family, we would be hugely appreciative. This means a huge amount to us.
